Your Journey

Your experience begins at our beautifully dressed heritage station in Stanhope. The platform sparkles, the music plays and the scent of festive treats fills the air.

Every guest receives a complimentary hot chocolate as you step into a world of twinkling lights and Christmas cheer.

Onboard, each carriage is full of warmth, joy and festive spirit. Complete with table seating, cosy decorations and some very playful elves. And yes, Santa himself will be making a very special appearance to greet each child and deliver a small magical gift.

Along the way you never know who else might appear. After all, it is Christmas.

Where to Find Us

The Santa Express departs from Stanhope Station (DL13 2YS), tucked away in the charming village of Stanhope in County Durham.

Free parking is available just a short stroll from the station.

Your magical journey travels east along the heritage Weardale Railway line to Frosterley and back. A round trip that lasts just under an hour but will stay with you much longer.
